Approximately 2hrs from Haneda Airport to Fukuoka Airport. About 45 min drive from Fukuoka Airport to the center of Hirokawa-machi town.


Arriving by train:

Approximately 5 hrs from Tokyo station to Hakata station by bullet train. About 20 mins from Hakata station to Kurume station by bullet train. Another 15 min drive from Kurume Station to the center of Hirokawa-machi town.

Hirokawa-machi town has the largest number of factories of Kurume-gasuri which is national important intangible cultural property with 200 year-old tradition. The town is also known as a top producer of Yame-sudare, the Japanese traditional blinds with 100 year-old history, which is designated by the governor of Fukuoka Prefecture as a traditional craft. Both traditional craftworks are being taken over by new generations.




Ginkgo is trees of Hirokawa-machi town. Especially ginkgo forests with over 100 gingko trees with golden leaves at grape farm at Taibaru area is the most popular in autumn. Many people visit to see the photogenic scenery.
